Osenkou

Scent is the first thing a room tells you, before you even see it.

In this course, you make your own Japanese incense sticks, Osenkou. Learn how the ingredients work together and how to shape the sticks, so you can continue creating at home.

We’ll take some time for a break together at Café Lalere next door. At the end, you take your handmade incense sticks home.

Workshop leader

Satomi de Lignie worked as a nurse in Japan for over ten years. Seeing how scent and surroundings can shape the way we feel led her to train as an aromatherapist at the Tisserand Institute in London. She later taught aromatherapy in Tokyo and Yokohama. Today she lives in Switzerland and works in quality control at an essential oil company in the Canton of Zürich. Alongside this, she explores Japanese incense, a quiet, layered craft.
